A WARM WELCOME TO THE LEEDS TENNIS LEAGUE WEBSITE!
2020/21 Winter League
The 2020/21 Winter League is unfortunately still suspended due to the Covid-19 rules. If the national regulations change we will review whether any matches can be played. Please contact the the League Co-Ordinator with any queries.
2021 Summer Leagues
We hope it will be possible for the summer leagues starting in May 2021 to go ahead.
This will be discussed at the Spring 2021 AGM (see below) and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
We advise clubs to submit entry forms as usual.
Annual General Meeting – Spring 2021
This has been arranged for 8.00pm on Thursday 18 February 2021.
For the first time it will be an online videoconference meeting. If you require a link please ask the League Secretary.
The minutes of the 2020 AGM are available on the League Info page of this site.
Currently all tennis facilities must be closed, this probably won’t change before late February 2021. See the LTA website for their latest Covid-19 advice.
The Leeds Tennis League has been in existence since 1964, when it was set up by six local clubs to give them the opportunity to play competitive mixed doubles.
It has since expanded, and the league now comprises around 90 teams, playing mixed/medley, mens, ladies and junior team tennis. Teams are entered by participating tennis clubs from within Leeds and surrounding districts. A full list of participating clubs can be found by following the Clubs & Maps link above. Enquiries from new clubs are always welcome – please contact the Chairman or Secretary in the first instance.
In addition, there is an indoor winter medley league, which plays at Leeds Beckett University’s Carnegie Tennis Centre, a Veterans League and a thriving Round Robin Singles League open to any player in the area.
The league is run by a team of volunteers, supported by Leeds City Council, with financial support from the Lawn Tennis Association.
An agreed constitution provides a framework for running the league and Autumn and Spring AGM’s are organised each year to manage it.
